yeah, reading the translation myself (google's one at least) i think jobs should be taken as professions, not job skills/life skills.

Thanks for informing me that I missed a page. I added the complete text to my post above, but it does not fully explain what the "Life skills" are exactly. I think the definition may be lost in translation and misconstrued.

Its probably because its in the planning stages? They most likely don't know what "Life Skills" will be like until it solidifies in game.

Life skills could mean the idea of skills like in WoW(I might have opened a can of worms with that one) or something completely new.

When the chinese asked the question, the question's wording was "Social Life System"; that can be from chatting to playing mini games with each other, which are not necessary specific things like fishing or crafting, but things that simply let player able to do something other than chat and sell in town. However, fishing and crafting does fit into the larger social life system category anyway.

Marhan grotto's ice skating (glitch or bug, w/e) are somewhat perhap accidently turned into a social life mechanic, hence there are more people around that outpost.

The purpose of social life system is a game mode that isn't pressuring/challenging, which allow gamers to befriend each other.

Server loads can be easily scaled - GW actually has an advantage here, because the servers work in a homogenous fashion. I'm not sure why you have this idea that GW is dying... ??? Selling over two million copies seems pretty healthy to me.
